Kristine Hunerwadel
Kristine joined the JFA team in 2024 as a Regional Training Intern in Colorado. She is raising support to serve as a Training Specialist. Volunteering at JFA outreach events over the past year, she came to realize that she loves having conversations with people about human development, human rights, faith, worldviews, and ethics. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Malone College and a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She also has over 13 years of experience working with university students in student affairs and academic advising. As a result, she has listened to many people's stories related to pregnancy and abortion over the last two decades.
When Kristine learned about the reality of abortion in her state, including that women travel from out of state to Colorado for third-trimester elective abortions and that abortion was legalized in Colorado in 1967 (before Roe v. Wade), she became eager to advocate more strongly on behalf of women and children, especially in Colorado. She seeks to meet people where they are at and share the beauty of Jesus and developing pre-born human beings with them in a compelling way. Inspired by that beauty, and mindful of the stories she’s heard, she wants to help paint a better picture of life for people that will lead them to protect both themselves and others who are currently at risk of harm from elective abortions. She looks forward to training Christians to be articulate, compassionate, knowledgeable, and courageous advocates who ask good questions and listen well. By empowering them to have conversations of their own, she hopes hearts will be transformed, lives will be saved, and women and children will be equally protected and loved.
In her spare time, Kristine enjoys visiting with her family and friends, listening to music, ice skating, reading, and burying her toes in sand while admiring seashells on the beach and keeping an eye out for dolphins.
